Deborah Hernandez is originally from Chicago; as the former Vice President of Tracy
Porter Inc. she helped to nurture the growth of that small entrepreneurial company
from the rolling hills of rural Wisconsin. Her grateful recollection "of working with the Porter team was truly a
fantasy experience and an opportunity that allowed me creative pursuits I had only previously dreamed of..." Her "city girl goes country" experience included co-authoring and styling Tracy Porter’s
Dreams From Home, Tracy Porter's Inspired Gatherings, Tracy Porter's Home Style and other delightful Tracy Porter
books. Her styling work has been featured in numerous national publications such as Victoria,
Romantic Homes, Better Homes and Gardens, People, catalogs such as Lands'
End, retailers such as Kohl's Department Stores and on the sets of QVC,
Home Shopping Network and The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Currently
Deborah Hernandez is a freelance Photo Stylist & Writer as well as the creator
of the Mi Casa Su Casa Retreat lifestyle
blog.
Her blog vividly
capture her photographs and stories of time with cherished family, friends, nature, creative pursuits,
outdoor recreation and travel. Hernandez loves a good sense of humor and believes the simplest pleasures are the best that
life has to offer. Ever finding ways to work with what she has or already exists she enjoys reinventing and re-purposing.
She is the enchanted auntie to 7 inspiring children and thanks her amazing parents (shown below) for their constant
encouragement in her creative endeavors. Nicknamed Dolly by Dad as a little girl, she first recalls her
enthusiasm for clothing being apparent when she was gently scolded for changing into four different outfits during a
childhood birthday party. That very enthusiasm for clothing later led to the study of fashion design at IADT
in Chicago. She recently joined the team at the ever innovative retailer, Anthropologie.
And when that isn't enough to keep her busy the additional hobbies and creative pursuits she takes very lightly
of Repurposing Clothing , Thrift Shopping & Photography easily fill the creative void.
